Our method : In 2019, we implemented actions undertaken internally under a label specific to the Firm ‘LWA GREEN’. Building on the success of this project, in September 2022 the entire Firm voted to set up a dedicated “LWA Green Sustainable Development/CSR” committee trained in sustainable transformation, made up of 8 volunteer Members (2 Partners, 3 Collaborators, 3 Employees) whose mission is to deploy a strategic sustainability plan defined around 4 major pillars (Our Responsibility as an Employer, Our Environmental Impact, Our Societal Impact, and reflection around Governance & Ethics) and to monitor the actions implemented to meet them.
Actions implemented (non-exhaustive list)
Pillar : A responsible firm
- We promote equality between men and women within the firm and have almost achieved parity in the number of partners (56% men, 44% women) and in the firm’s lawyer/employee profile (62% women, 38% men).
- The Management Committee has included two women partners since 1 January 2023.
- LWA has been approved as a training organisation ref. 11754567875 by the Service régional de contrôle de la formation professionnelle, and as such, whether through courses given in schools, universities, at the client’s premises or internally through our LWA ACADEMIE, training is in the DNA of LWA.
- A member of the firm attended a Sustainable Transformation Consultancy training course in March 2023 run by Ecolearn
Pillar : Environmental impact
- Weekly distribution of fresh fruit baskets to the office, direct from the orchards, “short circuit” with our partner Les Vergers de Gally
- Recycling of waste paper with our service provider Shred-It
- Consumables recycling (cartridges and toners) with our service provider Xerox / Green World Alliance programme
- Provision of eco-designed water fountains (NF E01-005 standard) and glass bottles with our service provider Castalie
- To act in favour of an ADEME company travel plan : we give priority to travel using low-carbon modes of transport
- Implementation of the HelloCarbo solution from January 2024 on our carbon footprint
Pillar : Societal impact
- Food collection in aid of Restos du Cœur during the firm’s seminar in September 2022 based on the theme of sustainable development and CSR.
- Since April 2023, setting up 2 clothing collection points within the firm with the TissEco solidarity association
- On the occasion of the children’s Christmas tree: collection of toys in aid of associations (Restos de Cœur, Emmaüs and ODP (aid for orphaned children whose parent is a firefighter).
- Participation in the JurisRun race in aid of associations: Droit pluriel in 2022 and Le Club des Six in 2023
- Cleaners Day” in April 2023: an operation aimed at the entire firm to clean, sort and tidy the offices and, at the end of the day, to make material donations to the Abbé Pierre Foundation.
